A Tribute to Emmalee

Today we celebrated Emmalee's Birthday. We sent off 100 balloons, which I think ended up being more like 85 or so after so many popping and some not wanting to leave the ground, with notes and pictures to Emmalee.

We finally finished Em's scrapbook, and just in time for her birthday too!

Many of the page background images are pictures of her stuff; the clothes she wore, her blankies, or clothes I had bought for her to wear in the future, like her butterfly bathing suit I had bought to match to her big sisters' suits.

Emmalee's Story

A beautiful smile and blue eyes that glistened,
Days full of life, to her laughter we listened.
Enjoying her sisters, her Mom and her Dad.
A wonderful life, precious Emmalee had.

Our sweet cherished baby will surely be missed,
Yet during her stay so many she blessed.
100 days here, to us seems so few,
Yet she completed her mission, who would have knew.

God knew her assignment had been complete,
This sweet girl of ours, her goals she did meet.
So He whispered her name and said, "Emmalee, Come home."
It was then that we found we were not alone.

Through friends and through family, some far and some near,
With words of encouragement, with hugs and with tears,
Our most awesome Father from Heaven above
Sent down His Spirit and wrapped us with love.

We now see our Emmalee, our baby so dear,
Her short little life made perspective so clear.
To us she was sent; to tend to, to borrow.
This heavenly knowledge now softens our sorrow.
